Position Summary
The Managing Director of Family and Community Engagement will lead and oversee the organization’s initiatives to strengthen relationships with families, community partners, and stakeholders. This role is responsible for developing strategic engagement programs, expanding community partnerships, and ensuring that families receive the resources and support they need to thrive. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and community-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive family and community engagement strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families, local organizations, schools, businesses, and government agencies to enhance collaboration and resource-sharing.
- Lead outreach and engagement initiatives, ensuring culturally responsive and inclusive practices.
- Oversee and evaluate family support programs, ensuring they effectively meet community needs.
- Develop and execute capacity-building initiatives to empower families and strengthen community leadership.
- Advocate for policies and initiatives that advance family and community well-being.
- Supervise a team of engagement coordinators, volunteers, and program staff.
- Manage budgets and funding proposals related to engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align engagement strategies with the organization’s broader objectives.
- Represent the organization at public events, community meetings, and advocacy efforts.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Education, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in community engagement, nonprofit leadership, or social services.
- Demonstrated experience in program development, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and public speaking abilities.
- Deep understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles.
- Ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships across diverse sectors.
- Experience managing budgets and securing funding for community programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management systems.

- Salary range: 100k-120k+
